Fiber Installation Technician

GWI is seeking a Fiber Installation Technician will perform customer facing functions that primarily include the installation of fiber optic drop cables, optical network terminals, wireless gateways and voice services for residential customers.
Responsibilities of the Fiber Installation Technician:

- Valid driver’s license with the ability to pass and maintain DOT medical examination.
- High School Diploma, or equivalent.
- One year of relevant field experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience in telecommunications.
- Certified Fiber Optic Technician (CFOT), training provided.
- Must have the ability to distinguish colors (required for fiber optic cable splicing).
- Flagging certification is required, training provided if needed.
- Able to speak effectively and professionally to customers and peers.
- Field data collection and data entry skills using a smartphone or tablet.
- Experience working on extension ladders and with hand tools and power tools.
- Ability to follow and understand organizational installation standards.
