Past Doings
December 13-14, 2004 weekend --- Scarborough Library.
On October 11-12, 2003, the club displayed at the former Nasson College in Springvale, Maine. Show was organized by the Nasson Alumni Assoc. Pictures of this event to follow.
On September 20, 2003, the club displayed at the Portland show organized by Rainy Day Trains of Scarborough.
April 12 saw the PTM Club at the annual Sanford Lions Club show. The club displayed a 28x16 foot layout, and operations with the Digitrax system were quite smooth, including the new wireless throttles. Thanks to the Lions and show coordinator Bill Catanesye and his wife for a great day.
On March 29-30, 2003, several PTM members brought their modules and displayed with the members of the Coastal Mountain Club at the GATS show in Manchester, NH.
Here are a few scenes from that event. On March 8 and 9, 2003 the club did a free show at the South Portland Public Library. The show was very well attended, and was a great success. The local NBC news station taped a short bit on it, which aired on the 11 PM news on Sunday. Thanks to the Library for its hospitality. Here are some
photos of the event.Jere Ross and Tim Byrne took their modules to the annual Amhurst Club show at the Big E in West Springfield on Feb 1-2, and assembled them with those of the HUB club. As always, Springfield was huge and extensive.
On October 27, the club displayed its layout at the former Nasson College in Springvale, Maine (near Sanford.) The display was sponsored by the Nasson College Alumni Association, and was free to the public. Over 100 people, including many kids, enjoyed the show, which again included use of Digitrax DCC. Members in attendance were Robert Wildhage, Jere Ross, Jeremiah Ross, Tony Frates, and Bob Clark, as well as yours truly. Special mention for Roy Prussner, who helped set up on Saturday, but could not come to the show. Thanks to Dick Ford, George Gillis, and the other organizers.
The club displayed at the show in Portland on 21 September at the Stevens Ave armory. The show was hosted by Rainy Day Trains of Scarborough. This was the first show at which we used DCC control on the modular layout. With Digitrax running on one main line, and DC running on the other, all went quite well for the first try. Several members now have DCC equipped locos, so more DCC at shows is likely in the future.
Pics of the Sanford Show on 13 April 2002 are
here.Here are some
scenes from the show 9-10 December 2000 at the Scarborough Public Library .If you're interested in how modular model railroading works, take a look at this
schematic of some of our modules. Note that any module (or set) can connect with any other, due to the uniform position of the two main tracks.
