Yes, there is chewing, growling, digging and such. There is also an indescribable gaze, a spine tingling howl, and an intimate partnership. This is an amazing animal.

Eddie would like to take some time to put two cents in for his favorite singer. There is something about the music of Ani DiFranco, that is irresistible to Eddie. Hearing her carry a tune or even strum her guitar, triggers something in him. He begins to pace a bit. From speaker to speaker he'd prance; tilting his head this way and that. Often he will sit infront of a speaker, looking straight into it. Then it would come, a slow and drawn out howl. To hear it for the first time, sets eyes to sparkle and skin to shiver. Kids stare in wide eyed awe, and it brings a soft smile to the hardest of faces. He used to howl along with me. We always praise him after he howls, showing appreciation for his song. Now-a-days he only howls to select sounds and few musicians. It is undeniable, however, that Ani is his favorite. Ani DiFranco.

Eddie found an article about Wolves in Maine that he kinda likes. Of course Eddie supports the efforts of the Maine Wolf Coalition and the re-entry of Wolves in Maine. Fear is a strange bedfellow. It is sad to feel so much fear in the air. Fear that the big bad wolf will come and eat your children. Fear that the stealthy hunter will compete too effectively with it's human counterparts. Fear. Silly fear. We should loose the fear, and share the land with it's rightful occupants; the animals.

Maine Seeks to remove some gray wolf populations from the endangered species list!!!

On a lighter note, I've recounted The Tale of the Great cheeseball. With Eddies kind permission, I've published it here for your reading pleasure.
