56k CIRRUS CL-MD56xx MODEMS

Cirrus is yet another chipset manufacturer. Modems containing the Cirrus chipset are not made by Cirrus, but usually by some small company instead. The CL-MD56xx chipset has a very hard time connecting reliably to the hardware that we at GWI use. We have found one command that may enable them to connect reliably. You can also try the commands listed for the Rockwell HCF or Rockwell 56k chipsets. Please let us know if either of these work.

AT +MS=V34B v.34 / 33.6k

DESCRIPTIONS OF COMMANDS:
  • AT: Modem Attention command. Not used through the Windows 95/98/NT Modems Control Panel
  • Language/Maxspeed: The Cirrus CL-MD56xx chipset may not be able to connect using 56k to GWI's servers. This command should limit the modem to 56k so that it can at least connect.
