GWI'S TRAVEL ACCESS SERVICE

GWI makes it easy to access the Internet or check email while you are on the road with our Travel Access Service. This service, now available to all GWI members, allows you to dial in to GWI wherever and whenever you travel in the continental U.S. outside of the state of Maine. 

And it's so easy to use! All you have to do is:

  • Dial in to GWI using our special Travel Access number: 1-877-217-1118
    See instructions on using this number below

  • You will be billed $.09 per minute for the time you use each month on your regular monthly bill from GWI.

That's it! You don't need to call GWI to sign up for this service, it is now part of your benefits of being a GWI member.  Just use this service when you need to.


Please Note: When using the Travel Access Service number shown above to dial in to the Internet or to check email, you will be billed at a rate of $.09 per minute for all time spent online using this number. If you are using an account other than GWI Net-Unlimited (such as our Net-10, Net-40, Net-Business or Back-up Dial-up accounts), the amount of time you are online using the Travel Access Service number will count towards your monthly hours included with that account.

We recommend you use this phone number only when you are in a location that prohibits you from using your regular access number, and that you change this number back as soon as you return. The Travel Access number can only be accessed when you dial in within the continental U.S. outside of the state of Maine.

GWI will not be responsible for any charges incurred while using this number, and will not reimburse funds due to a failure to change back to a local dial-up number.

How to Use the Travel Access Number:

Using the Travel Access Number to dial in to GWI requires a quick and easy adjustment to the dial-up settings on your computer. Simply choose your computer's operating system from the table below, and you will see computer screen shots that give you detailed, step-by-step instructions on how to change the number on your system.

We recommend that you use this number only while you are traveling outside of the state of Maine and change back to your regular dial-up number as soon as you return as you will be billed $.09 per minute for all time used on the Travel Access Number.
