If you reach your quota, two things will happen. First, you will be unable to upload any additional files to your personal web space. But more importantly (to most), you will be unable to receive new email messages until you correct the problem.
If you reach your quota and someone sends you an email, the server will reject the message, returning it to the sender stating that you are over your quota. For this reason it is very important to keep an eye on your usage, in order to avoid interruptions in your email.
At GWI, we understand that your quota is probably not something you have on your mind often. For this reason, we will automatically notify you when you are nearing or have reached your quota.
When you reach 75% of your quota, GWI will send you an email as a friendly reminder that you are approaching your limit. At this point, you will still have about 10 megabytes of available space left on our server. However, if someone attempts to send you an email message that is greater than 10 megabytes, the message will be returned to the sender. You will not be able to receive an email message if it would put you over your quota.
When you receive this email, you can decide whether to remove some saved files from the server or pay to increase your quota. Learn more about Increasing your Quota.
If your usage continues to increase, you will receive another email as you get much closer to your quota. Learn more about the Hard Quota.
One other type of limit is known as the file quota, which limits the actual number of files you have stored on the server. This limit is proportionate to your disk quota. Learn more about File Quotas here.
