GWI Dial-up Booster speeds up your Internet experience using your existing dial-up phone line and modem - you do not need to add any extra equipment. It is easy to install, runs seamlessly and doesn’t alter any of your existing software. You can also control the amount of compression vs. speed gain yourself. GWI Dial-up Booster allows you to surf at near DSL speeds, giving you a high-speed Internet solution with the convenience and low-cost of dial-up.
What Gets Boosted?

GWI Dial-up Booster compresses the following elements of web pages and email in order to send the information to your computer faster:

  • Web pages – HTML markup and JavaScript
  • Graphics including JPEG and GIF images
  • Text
  • E-mail - SMTP and POP (including file attachments!)
What Will Not Be Boosted?

Although GWI Dial-up Booster is able to compress many different types of online data, there are a few which cannot be accelerated:

  • Streaming media, audio and video files
  • Secure pages, such as those used for online banking and credit card forms

How Does it Work?

With traditional dial-up methods, the text and graphics that make up web pages get sent from the server to you over your phone line. Because of the large amount of data required to be sent, this process can be painfully slow. GWI Dial-up Booster compresses this data using a proprietary technology, and sends it over your existing dialup phone line. This compression process allows a smaller amount data to be sent – up to five times less – making the download time of your web pages and your online experience that much faster. As an added download time reducer, GWI Dial-up Booster stores elements of the web sites you visit frequently eliminating the need to re-download them every time you visit these sites.

How Do I Get GWI Dial-up Booster?

Once you are a GWI dial-up user (see our Dial-up Plans page for information on our dial-up options), you are just three quick and easy steps from getting the GWI Dial-up Booster.

Step 1: Activate the GWI Dial-up Booster - go to our GWI Dial-up Booster Account Management page, put in your username and password, and subscribe the GWI Dial-up Booster. The monthly fee will be applied to your account once you subscribe.

Step 2: Download the applicable GWI Dial-up Booster client for your computer (click here for information on operating system requirements):

That's all there is to it! GWI Dial-up Booster will automatically launch the next time you log on to the Internet.
